The Z10 is unique in the Jura range because of cold brew and the P.R.G. grinder. No alternative replicates both. Here is what you keep and what you lose.
| Feature | Z10 (unavailable) | S8 recommended | E8 |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-touch specialties | 32 | 15 | 17 |
| Cold brew | Yes | No | No |
| Grinder | P.R.G. (advanced) | Aroma G3 | Aroma G3 |
| Display | 4.3” touchscreen | 4.3” touchscreen | 2.8” color TFT |
| Milk system | Fine foam | Fine foam | Fine foam |
| Typical price range | $3,000 - $3,500 | $2,000 - $2,500 | $1,500 - $2,000 |
Bottom line: If you primarily wanted the Z10 for hot espresso and milk drinks, the S8 delivers a very similar daily experience with the same touchscreen. If cold brew was the main reason, there is no direct Jura alternative - consider waiting for restocks.
Before You Switch - A Quick Checklist
- Cold brew essential? No alternative offers it. Wait for Z10 restocks or consider a separate cold brew setup.
- Touchscreen important? The S8 has the same 4.3” touchscreen. The E8 has a smaller 2.8” display.
- Budget flexibility? The S8 saves $500-1,000. The E8 saves $1,000-1,500.
- Grinder priority? The P.R.G. grinder is Z10-exclusive. The Aroma G3 (S8, E8) is still excellent.

FAQ
Is the Jura Z10 discontinued?
No. The Z10 is Jura’s current flagship and is not being discontinued. Stock fluctuations are normal - check back on the deals page periodically.
Can I get cold brew from a different Jura?
No. The Z10 is the only Jura with built-in cold extraction. No other fully automatic machine on the market offers this feature. If cold brew is essential, wait for Z10 restocks or use a separate cold brew maker alongside a different Jura.
Is the S8 a significant downgrade from the Z10?
For hot drinks, the S8 is very close to the Z10. You get the same touchscreen, fine-foam milk, and excellent build quality. You lose cold brew, the P.R.G. grinder (getting the still-excellent Aroma G3 instead), and the wider drink menu. Daily hot coffee quality is similar. See our E8 vs Z10 comparison for more detail.
Should I get the E8 instead?
The E8 is our top-rated Jura for most buyers. It shares the same grinder and milk system quality as the S8. The main tradeoffs from the Z10 are: no cold brew, smaller display, fewer drink options. But the espresso quality is excellent and you save $1,000-1,500. Read the E8 review.
